3 Crucial Elements for an Executive Resume: #3
Strategy! This is the third crucial element you must have in your executive resume.
What is strategy? It’s your approach, your methodology, your professional blueprint. On CEO resumes, CFO resumes, CIO resumes, and other executive presentations, this is how you do what you do, and your doing it leads to success time and time again.
We talk about strategy and the other critical executive resume elements in our webcast, “How to Write A Perfect Resume.” This is a free, 1-hour session in which you’ll learn solid professional CV writing advice.
The reason strategy is critically important is you are the only person who has your particular strategy. These ideas are yours. These approaches are something you applied in a unique way. When the resume indicates your strategy, the employer can begin to visualize how you may apply that in his or her organization.
Presenting your strategy on your executive resume positions you as a thought leader in your industry. You are the expert because you developed a particular way of doing what you do. On Vice President of Sales resumes, for example, in addition to saying, “Increased sales 12%,” incorporate your strategy, “Increased sales 12% the 1st quarter by segmenting the potential customer base, identifying the largest-revenue customer organizations, and prioritizing those for sales calls.”
Find out more about outlining your strategy, as well as the #1 and #2 elements that $100K+ executive resumes must have, in the, “How To Write A Perfect Resume” webinar. You’ll learn some very practical approaches to transform your resume and optimize your job search.
